Clarion Desktop is a curated directory and publication for the worldwide Clarion developer community. This page explains how information is handled when you visit the website, subscribe to updates, or send a resource suggestion or correction.

Optional website analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages visitors read, how they find Clarion Desktop, and how we can improve the site. Website analytics are optional and do not load unless you select Allow analytics in our consent notice. You can decline and continue using the website.

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may process information such as pages viewed, interactions on the site, referring websites, approximate location, and browser or device information. It may use first-party cookies and identifiers, including cookies whose names begin with _ga, to recognize visits. We use analytics reports to understand readership and improve the directory and publication, not to show you personalized advertisements.

See Google's Privacy Policy for more information about how Google handles data.

Your analytics choice

Your choice is remembered in your browser. You can change it at any time using Analytics settings in the website footer.

If you withdraw consent after allowing analytics, the site stops loading analytics on subsequent visits. Changing your choice cannot undo information Google may already have processed. You can also clear cookies and site data through your browser settings, although doing so may reset your saved analytics preference.

Your website analytics choice is separate from any email subscription you make.

Email subscriptions

If you subscribe to Clarion Desktop news or This Week in Clarion, you provide your email address and any other details you choose to enter. We use Kit to manage subscriptions and deliver email updates. Kit processes subscriber information and may process message delivery and engagement information to support its email service.

We use this information to send the updates you requested and manage the mailing list. Each broadcast includes an Unsubscribe option and an Update Profile option. Declining website analytics does not unsubscribe you from email, and unsubscribing from email does not change your website analytics preference.

Resource suggestions, corrections, and messages

If you submit a resource, suggest a keyword, request a correction, or send us a message, we receive the information you provide. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, message, suggested text or keyword, an evidence link, and the resource being discussed.

We use submissions to review the directory, respond when appropriate, and maintain accurate resource information. Submissions are reviewed rather than automatically published. Please do not include passwords or other sensitive personal information in a submission.

Hosting and external websites

As with most websites, our hosting provider may maintain technical access, error, and security logs needed to operate and protect the site. This can involve information such as an IP address, request time, and browser information, independently of your optional analytics choice.

Clarion Desktop links to independent publishers, vendors, GitHub projects, documentation, and community websites. Once you leave Clarion Desktop, the destination site's privacy practices apply.

Questions

For questions about this notice or information you have submitted, use the website's existing contribution or correction contact options and identify your message as a privacy question. We will use the contact information you provide to respond.
